Description
The Frigid collection features a study of shape and detail, made possible by the technology of forming plywood in several planes. The result is a soft, enveloping backrest with slightly scaled proportions that ensure comfort in both formal and relaxed positions, even for tall people. The sensual experience of the furniture’s form is facilitated by soft, organic shapes that appear to float in the air. The armrests are made of solid oak turned in three dimensions, carefully carved and warm to the touch. In the XL variant, a table made of solid oak or walnut is also available. The steel frame is neutral in relation to the proportions of the upholstered elements, unless accentuated with a distinctive color.
Although Frigid refers to the ascetic design of modernism, its scale and refined details can make a strong impact in hotel lobbies or offices, depending on the selected fabrics and colors. Base accents can optionally be made of precious metals like brass or steel. The collection features individual variants of the armchair with different appearances and functions, making it suitable for both home and office use.
In 2019, Marye expanded the Frigid collection with further variants, including a bench and a reduced armchair without armrests. The slightly reduced proportions of the latter maintain all ergonomic parameters while fitting more discreetly into spaces with less room. With its expressive details, it can also emphasize the calm arrangement of a sofa.
The Frigid collection is available in several upholstery options, including leather or fabric, with soft armrests upholstered or turned from solid oak wood, or without armrests. The powder-coated base, made of a bent steel tube, is available in any color from the RAL palette and in colors from the sand structure effect varnish collection, such as rust, copper, and pearl brass.
